Does anyone or anyone's company purchase RECs ?

RECs, renewables energy credits.

We produce about 1000-2000 RECs a month, biomass type. We are exploring selling the RECs direct.

Utility companies that somehow have been slow to construct their own renewable sources may buy them to either meet regulatory goals or corporate marketing goals.

Similarly, companies with a large carbon footprint may buy them also primarily for marketing purposes.

I never really go to this point because my house is not well situated for solar so i have no direct knowledge but here’s 1 google search result.

Looks like NJ RECs are trading at about $200 each. I think these were $600-700 each about 10 years ago.

Prices were much higher when single family homes were able to ramp up much quicker than the utility companies. I’m fairly certain those days are over.

I have a friend who is an accountant in Oregon. He seems to find folks who want these. I am running out on vacation shortly but PM me after July 23 if you want an intro.
