Had to stop it 24 seconds in.

Kinda painful the tearing apart phases to get his things.

Doesn't the bike chain have a master link to take it apart instead of cutting the bike frame?

I guess maybe he outgrew the bike.

I guess I was lucky to know where to go for scrap materials to build with. Maybe the bike was scrap, I dunno, it just seems a waste.

I guess an electric powered board is more exciting than an electric powered bicycle.

Very cool! Max would opt for a gas engine though which means a clutch which means agh no...

Very impressive on a lot of levels..

Lots of clever thinking, plus the patience of Job to cut through an ashtabula crank with just a hacksaw, plus, making the slot for the drivetrain in the plywood with just a coping saw - and the cuts look really straight! (Hope it's not just clever editing - I want this kid to succeed!)

Bummer he had to cut the chainstay on the bike to remove the chain, but if he's modifying the drivetrain to build his cruiser, that bike is done being a bike anyway....

Thanks for sharing, happy Friday!

electric board is probably "cooler". I would assume it would be quicker/faster at moving a kid on a board than a kid and a bike.

Cool idea. Good job. Interesting how many people on the FB busted on cutting up that bike. Who cares? It was a POS. He probably found it laying in someone's trash can. It certainly had been left in the weather.

I, too, was impressed he had the follow through to use coping saw and the cutting of the cranks.

I think it is interesting the gear ratio worked with the cordless drill. That drill must have some serious torque!

Makes me want to go make one.

I'd probably mount some larger front assembly wheels to make sure the skateboard wheels didn't get caught up on a rock at high speeds, but that's just me. I've never been a fan of small diameter skate wheels at higher speeds on road surfaces, but again, that's just me. His budget might not have allowed it. As a skater, he probably wouldn't even want the larger wheels.

Overall- Bravo!

Nice to see a kid not just staring at his "Device" all day.

I want to see him hit reverse and back up.......
