Harvey PTSD

It is raining, hard, and I'm feeling uncomfortable...

sammyg2 09-18-2017 03:51 PM

Dr. Oatman: O.K., repeat after me. "I am at home with the me. I am rooted in the me who is on this adventure."

Red-Beard: I am at home with the me, I am rooted in the me who is on this adventure.

Dr. Oatman: Good. Now take a deep breath, and realize that this is me breathing.

Red-Beard: Wait, I'm confused. Do you want me to say it or do you want me to realize it?

Dr. Oatman: What?

Red-Beard: About the breathing.

Dr. Oatman: Say it.

Red-Beard: This is me breathing.

Dr. Oatman: Good, now keep doing that for about twenty minutes.

Red-Beard: Listen, I got to go.

Dr. Oatman: O.K. Keep it up. Don't kill anybody.

My yard has not seen one drop of rain since Harvey left the scene. Things have really dried out. And now I look out the window and the wilted blades of grass have formed a conga line and are parading around the yard in the rain.

Is that remanents of "Jose", or some other non-named tropical depression ?

A couple weeks ago she was doing the broncos game on Monday night. i tried to watch, i got through about 10 minutes.
That was too much so I switched to the es-pan-yoll channel and tried to habla.

I don't habla much, but it was still better than listening to her "fingernails on the chalkboard" voice and accent.

What the fook are they thinking? Do they have to be idiots to be PC?

I normally enjoy our summer storms that roll through Houston in the summer. Yesterday, not so enjoyable. PTSD indeed.

No, just plain old regular storms. But everyone is seriously on edge. Within a mile of here, thousands of houses were damaged.

red-beard 09-19-2017 04:29 PM

BTW - the rain raised the level in the Addicks dam, causing one of the re-opened roads, to close.

It is going to be a LONG fall.

sammyg2 09-19-2017 04:54 PM

Could be worse.

Same here, I had a good 6" of water standing in most of the yard when Harvey trained through here. The Brazos River clay soil now has big cracks in it in places. Hoping for an inch or so this week as we really need it yet those flooded out houses less than a mile from here absolutely do not want any rain.
