RIP Don Malarkey
|
96 is a good run...

The Cue Ball lost a good customer. When he was in the place, we all knew who the toughest guy there was. He'd proven it decades before. Here he is with Cindy & I on his 90th birthday bash. Don, always hitting on younger women. ;)

Currahee !

The first to sit atop Hitler's Eagle's nest. A group of ordinary guys who did extraordinary things.

Sounds like an amazing guy who lived an amazing life. I'm glad you got to know him. Nice photo. :)

I feel honored to have known Don. Another aside from his birthday thing at the pool hall. Some uniformed (BDU's) military were there..asked me what's going on, so I told them, urged 'em to go have some cake and join in the celebration. They did...
was touching to watch the interaction. There is indeed a "band of brothers", and it spans generations. Don's eyes lit up talking with these young guys. |
When I was a young man there where WW1 vets walking around. Now there is none. I hate seeing these guys from WWII guys going away.
To a life lived better than most! Thank you! |
