Wow. That's brazen. Sounds like a transporter had to be used. That or a large crew to drive them away. Anyway, pros.

Also, $400k worth of new Audis @ retail could be 3 or fewer cars. Just sayin'. :cool:

I live not too far away from that dealership. They had a 997 from a trade in when I was car shopping last year and I took it for a test drive but decided not to pursue it.

Speeder- These weren't new cars. If you read the article, it clearly states they were customer cars in to be serviced.

Well that was a poor choice - I could see if they were new cars, but if all of them where there to be serviced, the thieves will now need to steal $400k to fix 'em.

If pros they're already in containers and headed for eastern Europe or Africa.

You mean they didn't find them 2 miles away broken down?

I'm thinking it must be an inside job. They would have to be pretty professional to be able to handle that many cars all at once and to even get them off the property. Clearly they used a transporter because they weren't found broken down two miles up the road :). But the risk of pulling off a job like that is so great they no professional would want to try something that big without knowing they would be able to get away. That suggests someone on the inside who knew exactly what the vulnerabilities were and how quickly they could exploit it and get out. Maybe a disgruntled recently terminated former employee.

Witnesses said they heard "Low Rider" playing in the background and the guy running the theft ring drove a car he called Elanor.

You know there's a couple of those owners who got that phone call and in the back of their minds were thinking "Hallelujah!"

I envision a *Ransom of Red Chief* type situation where the thieves wind up paying the owners to take them back. :cool:
