Why you have a Toyota son.

My son is a senior dental student at Creighton in Omaha. Yesterday morning while on his commute he did this on the 480 bridge westbound. He lives just across the river in Council Bluffs and gets on the 480 at 41st which has a very short on ramp then has to immediately merge into the left most lanes. Apparently while looking left in heavy rush hour traffic he failed to see the person in front of him dodge a stalled vehicle that was blocking his lane and ran into the stalled vehicle at full speed. Thankfully he walked away from it without a scratch. He had begged me insessantly to give him my old 911, I hate to think of the results if this had happened in the Porsche.

Very fortunate! He can enjoy the holidays with family this year and not from a hospital bed.

I mean that in the very best way.

No doubt, modern cars are much safer. I am glad he is OK.

Fortunately the car is easy to replace, it is just an appliance. That is what insurance is for, replacing the transportation appliance. Hopefully he will learn to watch the road in front of him after this lesson.

Glad your son fared well! There was a deadly accident right around there yesterday afternoon that shut the interstate down. Guy in a Toyota Sequoia rear ended a semi loaded with rebar and was killed instantly. It's a daily occurrence here. I don't drive the interstate unless I have to because people think it's Daytona and no one likes to plan for their exit. They just cut everyone off while they cross 5 lanes of traffic at 80 mph. And rush hour is horrible. Never fails it's a standstill.
