http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1514744239.jpg Most of my copper is hanging or stacked on this rack, which is solid copper and very heavy . . . one of the hooks pulled out from the ceiling once! |
Lemon juice and salt works wonders.

Anyway I am just buying on the cheap. I didn't show the pile of All Clad that I have a good portion that came from Thrifts. Then the stuff that is redundant or not of superlative quality I sell. |

I had a couple of Revere solid copper crepe pans that I sold for about $70 each if I recall correctly. They both went to the bay area. Or a Shangahi handmade 14 inch wok for $450 to Portland. I traded a couple of Tagus copper fry pans a couple of small All Clad sauce pans, 10 inch Griswald fry pan and a Dualit toaster for 3 years of a cpa doing my taxes. All told i had about $50 in it. |

It was fortuitous that they closed up shop. They are now made of unobtanium. Still have 3. |

I really like All-Clad, I think they have the best handles of any cookware period. Alas I only have one piece. I never find them in thrifts here, same as I never find decent kitchen knives in our local thrifts. |
Thrifty Knives
I have kept 25 of the knives that I have found it the Thrifts. Only the Damascus Blade Custom cost more than $2 and that was $7.

ALL CLAD Found in Thrifts. Nothing over $10 except the 10 Qt Stock Pot that was $30. The little sauce is triply Mauville for $3.00. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1514837970.JPG
Store bought on sale a long time ago... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1514838044.JPG As you can see I do not need anymore cookware. you can also understand why I sell off most of what I find now unless it is unusual. |

Not at all Citizen Tabs. Just a little jesting. Besides, it was your words not mine. I was merely observing the obvious correlation to Mr Freud and your gaff. Since this is a copper thread, consider it a penny for your thoughts.

Man, I never find decent knives. I always look for them.

my most HATED pan is my All-Clad saucier.
i keep it cuz my friend blinded me with some jedi mind thing and convinced me to buy it. the handle sucks. like all AllClad the handles are angled up aggressively. this makes for difficult pouring if the pot is full. and pouring..what a friggen joke. it has these tiny pour lips that suck you in. they suck you into some confidence spell. i use the thing to make mexican hot chocolate. i love the extra real estate to stir. but i break out into a sweat when it is time to pour the elixir into mugs. those pour lips are a joke. there is no speed of pour that wont result into a mess. the pot dribbles like a joke-cup you buy in the back of a 1970's comic book. it's saucier!! so you may safely assume that you might come across a point you may need to pour out a sauce. the heat distribution is awesome..typical all-clad. they look great. and making polenta or rissoto..there is no better pan in my kitchen. i have every pan i need until i die. only three made the cut that are All-Clad. |
When saucing a dish, 99 times out of 100, I use a spoon to distribute the sauce where I want it.
Maybe that's an option for you... |
