man..i hate them.

going to a foreign country; from a doctor's perspective, it must look like hell.

hepatitis.i got vaccinated already. malaria?! what? it's winter! it was a blur..but i am 90% sure i am getting a measles update!! tomorrow. we had the phone consultation, not tomorrow is the shots. we are sneaking in for some Piranha fishing, so the doc is pushing the malaria angle. i think i am just gonna spray my clothing and wear DEET.

on top of that, i apparently might die of high elevation and some food borne pathogens. i am going in loaded for bear.

on top of that..i bring my water purifier and UV steripen..

Ahhhh the Machu Piccu trip is coming up. This is a great time to go, and you know the trail is closed, right? Be sure to load up with ceviche in Lima at Pescados Capitales and all the great food hidden away in the alleys of Cuzco.

we have some days to explore. figured an ultralight fishing rod and bits of meat would be awesome for piranha.

Get all your shots. Some of those diseases are no bueno, if you get them.

When I went to a tropical climate to live, a bunch of years ago, I think I had to get 10 different shots. 2 a day, all week.

Get the shots Vash. 2 of the guys on my crew are from Peru. They have shots when they go back but they have been here many years.

Both arms are now sore.

If we choose to go to the Gateway of the Amazon, i’ll Add yellow fever and malaria measures.

There is now a mock battle going on in my body. :)

well, that SUCKED!!

one vaccine kicked my ass. i had mild vertigo for two days. laying down, i would get seasick and have to vomit. when i turned my head to look down, i would almost topple over. made peeing fun!! i have been sit-pissing. good times!
today, the world seems plumb again..mild dull headache is the only reminder. i think i know what vaccine it was after going thru the literature. i have a second shot in a few weeks to make it official.

That’s too bad. We had the full course from the travel doc before our Peru/Bolivia trip and neither of us had material side effects. Trust me though, the trip will be worth it.
