Christmass Comes Early

I went into my sons old room to put something in his closet and look what I found? ...... :)

I phoned him up and thanked him for the nice present. Then asked him when they arrived. Six months ago. He was worried about his basement flooding.

I guess this means I'm not getting the spoon needed to serve them. :)

He really should have told you that it was there.

Not sure that yesterday was the best time to post that you found a closet chock full of ammo in your house.

I keep dreading that a news item will come up that a fellow pelican is found in posession of an arsenal of combat weapons and a truck load of ammo.

Cheers Richard

Yup. Good info to be able to pass along to first responders had your home caught fire.

Was going to send you a link for PAS's gen2 PA-10, but that would be for the wrong 7.62.

Yes, digital photos nowadays are tagged with information. Depending upon the photo, one takes an additional step (or steps, depending upon level of paranoia that day) to scrub the tagging prior to posting.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...ool_shades.gif

OP's pic contains no location meta data.

Yes, I checked.

Thanks for your comments and concerns. He should have told me but as it's his house when I'm dead and it was in his room (still has pink & blue bears with balloons on a small part of the wall) that really isn't a matter of concern. And my kid makes his living wearing a gun so everything is legal.

Yesterday? Nothing I have done or could have done would have made a difference to what happened yesterday. Just like what might happen tomorrow. Everything gun related is stored properly and complies with existing laws. Some groups like to make you feel guilty for things that happened years ago like because I'm white I'm supposed to feel guilty for slavery. While I never have owned a slave or know anyone who has and I doubt any of my ancestors ever owned slaves. They might have eaten you (especially if you were Roman) when they ran around naked, painted blue up in the highlands way back when. But I'm supposed to feel guilty. Sorry don't. But I do feel good that Florida has the death penalty.

Safety? Ammo is only dangerous if it goes off in a enclosed area like the barrel of a gun and that would be considered unsafe storage up here. Can't store a loaded weapon. Ammo alone just goes "pop" and because the brass is lighter than the bullet it is the part that moves. (31 years a firefighter you learn a few things). The plastics in your couch is more dangerous to firefighters.

Location safety from the picture? If someone wants to track me down to try and steal a few boxes of bullets from a picture good luck to them. If they want my address they just need to ask. :) I could go on about alarm systems, 225 lbs of dogs, plexi glass on windows, Video surveillance camera, ect But I have Mrs. Kravitz living next door. (she was from the TV show Bewitched and watched the neibourhood and knew everyone's movements). There are a lot easier (and safer) places to steal ammo. They are called "Gun Stores" :) Less chance of dying there.

Thanks for the offer of the link but Black Scary guns are too much trouble to own up here. I can own and possess ammo for it as long as it stored properly. So I let my kid own them. He has all the permits needed thru his work. BTW the three bottom boxes are the right 7.62 (X51) It fits in my brown wood semi auto gun which does the same as your link but isn't scary so I don't need special permits to own it. :)

My level of paranoia is pretty high. I have gun insurance. I mean not for just if they get stolen or lost in a fire. I have special insurance that covers me if I'm using a firearm and someone gets hurt ($5,000.000) and another policy that gives me $100,000 coverage for any legal bills related to guns or their usage.

Nice!

I just ordered a 1,000 rounds of 22 and 223 to add to my collection.
