I spent a lot of time yesterday researching 80% lowers and am now convinced any new AWB is going to be even less effective than the last charade was that expired in 2004. Nevermind that no one is going to turn in anything the feds tell them to, at least not in states where the state and local police won't lift a finger to assist in enforcing any new bans.

It has never been easier to build your own guns, and doing so requires no FFL or even serial number. So they're really untraceable. And any new law is just going to make those 80% lowers fly off the shelves. Are they going to ban things above 70%? 50%? Where does it end? They'll eventually have to ban the billet aluminum ingots, jigs and even CAD software, which I don't see happening.

You can literally buy everything you need on eBay and it's barely more expensive than a factory-made gun. I suppose Big Brother can log and trace all eCommerce activity. But that wild goose chase would make the millions of NICS-checked FFL sales per month look like a drop in the bucket.
