Help me wire up an old Ungo box to AC 120V

I recently pulled an Ungo box from a 911 and would like to hook it up in my garage as a functioning novelty. Kids (and me!) would get a kick out of pushing the red button and having the alarm blast. Also a great opportunity for practical joking with friends over.

So I've got the Ungo box here which I'm planning to simply gut of all the electronics, but keep the switch behind the red button for actuation.

I don't know much about electronics, but I can solder and figure things out. Looking for some assistance on what I need to do this (inverter, transformers?) so I can wire it up and plug it into a wall outlet.

I'm also open to just using a compact 12V battery. It's not like its going to get much use. Just a short burst from time to time. I can imagine a battery would last a while.

Thanks!

Any 12V wall wart transformer will work. They make them with bare leads that you can solder to the Ungo power leads. Or take any random one, cut the round plug off and strip the leads back.

I tried the 12V wall wart. Hz must be wrong. The horn sounded, but it was like it was sped up. Sort of like Alvin and the chipmunks version.

Needs DC, and proper polarity. Some wall warts are ac.

do you have a 12v jumper pack?

I do. But not sure what that gets me.

Use the jumper pack as 12v supply/12v battery.

Look at the wall wort, it should say AC or DC, as said you need DC.

you need a 12v power supply. you need to check the current rating on the UNGO and then get a PS with AT LEAST that current rating,

you probably used a PS too small for the device.

i see it only uses a 3A fuse so its probably less than 1.5A.. just s guess though
