Buying a Mini (BMW) extended warranty at end of lease - 2014 Mini Cooper?
Hi folks.
Just curious on folks thoughts. I have a low mileage 2014 Mini Cooper (35,000 miles) that I have owned since new. This is the revised model with the BMW modular turbo 3 cylinder, so it hopefully (knock on wood) will not have the traditional Mini reliability issues. Its pretty bare bones so there is no sat nav to go wrong. We have decided to buy it out and keep it now that the lease is up. Mini is offering a 4 year extended warranty for $3400 CDN with a $200 deductible for each claim. Right now I'm on the fence. I feel like if I pass it up, I'm essentially gambling that the car will not have two major repairs over the next 4 years. The car is not driven hard and is really just an around town short hop wifey car. Anyone have bad experiences with repairs on the newer models that use the new drive train? Thanks
