Love some .357 wheelies! I have a GP100 4" and a SP101 2" , I use the shorty for concealed carry and the GP mostly for hiking. I always smile to myself while at the range and start off shooting .38's for 20-30 rounds and switch up to .357's just to get everyone's attention. The concussion will make everyone in the room wake up along with the 2 foot fire balls!! After 5-10 shots go quietly back to .38's like nothing ever happened. With Badger wooden grips on both 5-10 rounds is all you need to get your fix but the power is something else for sure.

I still have my S/S model 60 chief's special available. Has a pic slide on top for a laser flash combo or red dot.

I find it surprising how many shooters today have little or no experience with revolvers. When I started learning this game, revolvers were pretty much all we used. As an avid hand loader, I much prefer them for their versatility and ability to accept such a wide variety of loads. As an outdoorsman and hunter, I won't use anything else - autos simply cannot provide the power necessary, at least not in a handy, portable package.

You guys probably know I'm a single action kind of guy, but I do love my Smiths. Every one of them, including my M19-5 (K framed .357), M29-3 (nickle plated pimp gun), and M29-10 (evil key lock) are simply wonderful.

And, once you are used to them, the standard target grips are great. If you don't like the checkering, or the shape, I would highly recommend getting in touch with Steve Herrett for a set of his smooth, uncheckered stocks. I like his "Roper" profile. He'll make them to fit you (he will ask for a trace of your hand). I've had a trace on file with him for years. One of my M19's, one of my M29's, and my Python all wear his grips.

So, yeah - keep shooting those revolvers, folks. They are accurate, they can be very powerful, and they can be simply beautiful. Way more pride in ownership than some tupperware 9mm auto.
