Vash, what were those pants you mentioned?

In a previous thread you mentioned some type of pants you wear when traveling (or was it hunting?) that are tough but comfortable.

We are planing a trip to NYC then riding the train down to DC so I want to travel light and if I could get away with one or two pairs of slacks that would be cool.

Thanks in advance.

One more question about the Prana Zions, the size chart is kinda weird, do they run true to size?
I'm a 34 waist... but the website says 32's are a 34 inch waist? I'm corn-fused?

If it isn't TMI what size do you wear in the Prana compared to what size you wear in Blue Jeans?

just looked. mine are 34x32. i wear the exact same size jeans. maybe you can try them on at a local REI?

too add..i think the official name is Prana Stretch Zions..so there is some give to the material, which makes them so comfy, and doing lunges a possiblitiy.

i havent put on a pair of jeans in about 5 years. no exaggeration.

Too bad the co-op member 20% off coupon expired recently at REI. Amazon seems to be selling them at a discount FYI.

Ordering from Amazon is also the plan, the Eddie Bauer Guide pants also look nice, might order a pair of each.

This will be the first time I have spent more that $30 on pants!

i moved away from the EB pants..i was wearing them for work..crawling over k-rail (jersey barrier for some of you). i quickly tore both back pockets. the fit is more slack like, and you would pull them off in some decent restaurants.
the pranas look more "sporty" with vent holes and snaps to turn them into "capris" if your into that kinda thing

$30.00!!! You must be some kind of rich swell from downtown to spend that kind of money for a pair of pants...He11 if my pants cost me more than $8.00 I think I am the king of Sweden or sumthin.

And those Cargo panty things are SO yesterday... Ifn I wana go TACTICAL I fly 511 Tactical's with a pair of Danner Fort Lewis or HH Paratrooper Jump boots. Then I feel right smart..

Today's fabrics are amazing. "base layer" works great. Those convertible pants work nicely. I have a pullover shell that CANNOT be wrinkled. Wad it up, pack it tight in a duffel and set it in the Sun for a while. No wrinkles. Oddly, these fabrics are made from polyester.

Saw some "travel pants" at Costco the other day for $17.99 and grabbed one. I'm going back for more. Looks like a dress pant. Weighs nothing. Fabric is somewhat stretchable. Comfortable. expandable waist. I'm taking these kinds of things next time I get on a plane which will be in about 3 weeks.
