You guys are doing it all wrong.....

I have a neighbor who I will call Jim. This morning I said to him what are you working on Jim? He said I am working on a girlfriend's 2005 VW Golf. I said what is wrong with it? The girlfriend told Jim that the fan would not quit running so I took off my shoe and put the shoe in the fan to stop it running. That stopped it running but Glen says it caused a bunch of damage including the plastic shroud.

Jim explained the fan would not stop running because the accessory belt driving the water pump was broken and missing. Jim further explained that the woman owner was a red head. I suggested he get a a blond next time. Woman owner was also incensed that her shoe was broken as well. While Jim is fixing her car she flew off to Miami and will be back in ten days to hopefully a fixed car. I do have some great neighbors!

I have one question.

Where are the pics of the aforementioned red head?

You will have to go to Miami and take your own pics....
You will find her readily. She is the redhead with one shoe.

I hope the friends name doesn't end up in the news for some other sort of reason...

Wonder if Jim's Doc Martens will be good enough to seal up the head gasket after running it without the wp belt ?

To give some closure...

to this thread I talked to the 60 year old single neighbor who fixed the 30 year old red head's VW. I said to Jim you fixed it? He said yes and I said did you get compensated?
Yes he said I got a t-shirt from Miami. He got a VW fan from the wreckers for $20.

I have developed a new line that I have used anytime a new female coffee partner mentions needing repairs/renovations/ major or minor tweaks

And my line always ends with ...and that's why you hire a contractor

( I’ll never be that guy again. )

What about the water pump belt?

Won't someone think about the water pump belt?

The water pump belts will have to fend for themselves

It’s a cruel world out there and even crueler car owners

It might be a stretch, and there may be a little tension, but I think the water pump belts will do just fine...
