Infinity War - Spoilers
I searched. I can't believe their isn't a thread already on this forum. Don't read if you don't want the movie spoiled
Anyway, I finally saw this movie yesterday. It was good. I don't think I've ever seen a movie like this where the good guys lose, and lose so badly. Thanos is a terrifying bad guy. Unlike just about every other superhero bad guy, he's not out for himself. He's not motivated by greed or anger, but by love and doing what he thinks is right. He is willing to make sacrifices to see his vision through. I can't but help but think that Thanos' reasoning falls into a common fallacy. It goes something like this: The galaxy is overpopulated in comparison to resources. The solution to this problem is to bring the population down to match the resources. The most effective way to make that happen is to collect the six infinity stones and wipe out half the population of the galaxy. The fallacy is that once he has the means to effect his solution, there are other possibilities. Specifically, once he has the six infinity stones, he could increase resources to match the population. I'm also fairly confident that there will be some massive reversal of at least some of the character deaths in the next Avengers movie. I think there are announced sequels for some of the dead characters. |
When you’re dealing with a reality warping/ time altering gauntlet it’s a safe bet that some of the characters are coming back.
They’ve really left the original comics behind. But I hope the keep the one who finally sticks a knife in Thanos. |
