There's only one way to get rid of a mole . . .

Buy a new shaker bottle each year. When they pop up, shake a bit on the mounds.

I also use a fire ant preventer every 6 months. Scott Turf Builder Southern lawns is now adding fire ant killer. Makes it easy to Feed, Weed and prevent fire ants.

Dry ice dropped into the high spot of the tunnels should work as well. Let the CO2 sink down and kill the buggers.

Traps are my weapon of choice. Kill a bakers dozen every year. What has worked for me is to identify a tunnel used between two fresh mounds and place the trap with a stone under the trigger so the mole is forced to go over the stone and up into the trigger mechanism. Seems to be pretty successful method as I deem failure being a third or fourth mound...not many moles make it to that point of destruction. Pesky little creatures.

I had a Jack Russell Terrier that took care of them every spring. Mine was very efficient and not too messy.

It’s kinda exciting. I wore gloves to minimize scent. I set six traps. Game on!

I had to dig up my old spool of stainless steel rebar tie-wire to make some leashes. I can’t wait to check my traps. Digging into the tunnels was strangely entertaining.

Only no snow, grizzly bears or hostile Indians trying to kill you.

Our male dachshund went after one mole tunnel. All he got was very muddy. The mole had moved back under the fence I guess. He will for sure keep them out of our back yard.

We had a mole go after our front yard. It went down the sidewalk all the way to our neighbors house, and then back on the other side of of the sidewalk. We put out the gummy worm looking poison. I think I killed a couple of them but more moles invaded the folks on the other side of the fence. Several of the neighbors killed one each.

It is weird, that in all the years we have lived here we never had moles. They must be prolific breeders.

I know the Amdro is supposed to take a week or so...ants "like" it, and take it underground to the queen. Hadn't really looked at the mound much, but saw no activity....thought it might be due to rain, etc. Went and checked....see quite a bit of activity around 4-5 half inch holes, and not many granules still around....so I just sprinkled a bit more. First application...the ants were indeed taking the granules down in the mound...now, they are working feverishly to get them away from the holes, and even bringing them up & out . I'll give it time, but this don't look so good .

I understand planting bamboo is a natural way to prevent moles from invading your yard.

When finding a fresh tunnel, step the dirt down and place the trap with the jaws at right angle to the tunnel. Step on the trap until it clicks when set. That's it. No digging, scooping dirt, or placing bait underground.
With a couple of these, it's nearly impossible for a mole to get away...easy peasy!

I took an old gas lawn mower- removed the muffler and attached a pipe with a long rubber hose attached to the pipe. I put the hose in the tunnel and seal it up with dirt.

I run 2 cycle gas and get as much oil in my mixture as I can without fouling the plug. Smokes the crap out of the tunnel and I can let it run for hours.

someone once told me to take a tank of propane - fill the tunnels with propane and light it - Don't want to blow up the neighborhood but sure sounded like a something I would have done when I was 13!!

We have moles, lots of ants, masses of termites, all a bummer,
But just lately there has been a bloom of Chiggers, OMG my worst fear. I'm a magnet for those nasty itchy little critters and didn't know that they are found in northern Fla.

I'm not there now since they have showed up. My brother just did some mowing and came out of it with bites in his crotch and waistband area. And that from a riding mower too, Yuck!

Anyone know how to get them out of a yard?

Cheers Richard

Diazinon was always the answer...but they took that one away also.
Any lawn pesticide containing Permethrin should do the job.
Might have to go to a farm-supply store to buy it.
