2018 Garden Thread

Did we do one of these yet? This is from about the middle of May, got an early start this year. Tomatoes are over the top of the cages already.
Tomatoes on the R, peppers on the L. On the far end is a pair of butternut squash plants. First time with butternut squash, which is growing so fast it is making the zucchini look like I have been watering it with Brawndo. Birds got most of the early peaches, got a dozen or so of them. Need to get me a Red Ryder maybe. MMM, home grown peaches

Zuccini, basil and chives, chicken wire to keep the dogs from galloping through it.

Here in MN, Memorial Day kicks off garden season. This is what we’ve got going so far. Snap peas, green beans, spinach, lettuce, zucchini, tomatoes, carrots cilantro and radishes.

Nice looking garden.
I went out to my garden and pulled some weeds out of the mud this morning. We have not had a dry day in 2 weeks and the weeds have taken over. Embarrassing pics tomorrow

We arnt garden people but this year we planted sunflowers and they are coming in awesome. Also picked up a strawberry and cherry tomato plant they are still in pots we take them into the patio at night. Last year my brother tried potatoes. They came in but very small. The problem was the dirt he used compost mulch and it stayed too wet. Im looking forward to the sunflowers for sure

Indeed.

Rabbits are winning here. Just ordered a fence to go around my raised beds. If it doesn't help, I am conceding. They will be fat.

I have these to keep herons out of the fish pond and deer away from my apple trees. They work great until it gets below freezing.
