Need to take my 77’ 911S in to a shop…recommendations?
Looking to get some maintenance done on my 77’ 911S and looking for recommendations. I setup an appoint with Too Quicks in Tacoma but they’re over a month out and I’d like to get in sooner than that. I need to do new fluids, tune up spark plugs, cap, etc and an issue with cold start and idle issue. When I rev it drops under 500 rpm and dies most times. Seems to be worse when it’s hotter outside. Could be a lot of things that’s why I need someone that knows these cars better than I do. Also need to install new tie rods and new brake pads all around. I just want this sorted and reliable as best as possible.
Thanks everyone! Jayson ![]()

Well after some poking around I adjusted the idle screw to get the revs up around 950 from 650 and wow night and day difference. No more issues there and car runs completely different no dying when revs come down. However, since JW is retired I’m looking for a reputable shop or someone that does side work. Thanks guys!

I thought JW was still working out of his new place. Gorgeous car BTW.

Thank you I’ve been happy with it so far although it does need some essential upgrades

Been in touch with John Walker in Marysville, but he wasn't able to fit me in. He's really well regarded, however. I've had Squire's Autowerke in Bellevue do some service over the past few months, and they've been consistently excellent. Absolutely recommend.
