Post Removal of Targa Bar

Can someone explain the procedure to remove the Targa Bar on a 84 911 Targa? I want to repaint mine off the car.

Kind of in the wrong thread: BMW general

Anyway, quite easy:
the targa bar cover's material is I believe aluminum.
Two nuts hold it left and right to the chassis on the B-pillar. You reach them from underneath the rear fenders. I had to remove the wheels. Caution - they can be rusted and you don't want to destroy the srews attached to the bar cover. Then under the side and rear targa seals you'll find (8?)metal srews. I remove my seals anyway so easy access.
