Alpha Update
PPG DBU basecoat with PPG DCU 2010 Clear
The DCU 2010 is probably the best clear I have ever used. ![]() ![]()

Looking very sharp, that clear is very good and easy to work with, I hope they don't mess with it when the waterborne paints come about.

Thanks for the clerification Danilo. I don't know why I spelled it wrong, I do know better. Must have been a "senior moment".

Either a "senior moment" or hanging out in the spray booth too long without the respirator! ![]() Nice thread.. I too have one of those little Alfas, bought it not running w/damaged Right fender and door. Very complete non rusty 72 2000 GTV w/Injectzeone. It's been sitting, and I am so far away from beginning it's restoration.. have had many offers on it, but I just can't bear to sell the dang thing. They're just so cool! Good luck with yours.. Paul

kevin - I had an alfa like that when I was in Germany, same blue color. It was the GTV2000, 74 year model. On one trip to France in 1981, the cam timing chain broke and left my wife and I stranded. Rebuilt the engine and shipped it back to the US in 82. It was a sweet ride.

Oh yes I know!!
Funny though, I've had this car roughly 5 years.. I think. Before I got the car it sat in a garage for 17yrs after being hit in the fender. The previous owner had passed away and his son began to drive the car.. ran a stop sign and got nailed in the fender.. not too bad really. A friend of mine called me one day and says "hey, I know you're into cars.. do you like Alfa's cause my aunt has one she wants to get rid of" I asked if it was a convertable she said no, its a hartop. I didn't follow-up. Months later she calls again and says, "hey.. you better come get this car if you want it, my aunt is about to have the junk man tow it away because the washer is broken, and the car needs to be moved to get a new one in! Needless to say I couldn't let that happen and I went, I saw, negotiated with the aunt, and flatbedded it home. Don't you just love a story!? Hey man.. the moniker (So many cars..so little time!! ) is a lifestyle! P-

For those of you who want to follow the restoration of the fore mentioned blue Alfa Romeo GTV here is a link.
http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/car-restoration/33806-lets-get-party-started-part-1-tearing-away.html It is in my opinion going to be one of the best GTVs in the LA area once its done. The perfect blend of a stock looking sleeper. |

YES - Jim aka "papajam" is the man. He is very well know on the Alfa site and a constant source of support for those who love the Alfa Romeo brand.
He's the true definition of an "Alfisti". |
