Small rust repair & paint: advice asked

Hello fellow Pelicans,

I just removed the front fenders of my 1989 911 (one of the latest 3.2-s).
Actually I was surprised to see the good shape of the metal.

I have a few small rusty spots on the car body, inside in the top area of the wheel bay; right where the edge of the fenders rest on what I call (litterally translated from Dutch...) the "inner fender".

Spots are 3/4 inch wide and 1-2 inches long; I can very likely grind them to clean metal without going through it, rust is not deep yet; otherwise I have to fix it with small pieces of sheet metal.

Now the questions:

1: Obviously I will make the areas clean and well ready for sealing it off with paint. Do I really need to take the efforts of making 2 component primer, filler and topcoat to seal this off properly; or is there no problem in taking (wash)primer, filler and topcoat from spray cans for this ?
It would save a lot of hassle not having to mix the stuff and using my spraygun for these relatively small pieces....

2: Does anyone know what kit is used to seal the seam between the edges of the fenders and the body; alike the white factory stuff I encountered ?
That really looked like durable rubberlike stuff...

Thanks for any thoughts you guys have on these !
