Shot bag

So I recently bought a shot bag at Harbor Freight. They do not sell shot so I have gone to a half dozen gun shops to locate shot. Unfortunately they have all said the same thing. No one carriers it any longer as it is to expensive. both the shot and shipping.

So what do you do with a shot bag with out shot?



Is there something else you can use? Sand, small stones, a synthetic shot of some kind?

Any suggestions?

i got steel shot . for my new bag . i found it worked better than the bag i have with lead shot . you can get it shipped to you just google it . i got some last year from a reclamed place that sells it . i just googled shot gun shot reclamed .

Pontifex4- Walmart does not sell guns or supplies in NJ. I did try Dicks sporting goods. thay have reloading equipment but do not carry shot.

Bass Pro Shops sells #7 shot in their retail stores. I've been using sand for years now in my 12" bag with good results.

edit: think I've also seen it in Dick's Sporting Goods stores. If you can't find it and want the right stuff I can buy it at BPS and ship it to you but it'd cost a bit to send.

Thanks for the info scott. No Bass Pro shops near me. I think I am going to try sand. I don't see any reason why that wouldnt work.

I was just about to say, "So what do you fill a *****bag with? Well I'm not exactly sure but some of the folks I work for a full of it and probaly could spare a bit! Maybe only for postage. They seem to like giving alot of it out for free, anyways...Then I realized you said S H O T B A G. Oh well..."
