Best paint restoration for 996

Whats the best route for a 996 with dull paint & light swirls. I have just tried using Meguiars NXT and it has come up ok - imagine it hasn't been polished since it had a diamond glaze protection 6 years ago. I'm really confused about cleaning, glazes and waxes.

There is a lot of tar / tree sap dots that make it difficult to polish. I used to do a bit of painting on my 944's and have a machine polisher but its a bit of a beast, Is a clay bar a good route to go or better with the electric route? Also used to use meguiars liquid gold class wax and got good results but is paste for wax better.

Appreciate this is a previously discussed topic but looking for help ideally with products that are available in the uk!

Hard to know what products you have available there (I'm in Oz), but I had great results using the Meguiars Clay Bar to remove sap and grime from the paint of my car. It was such a good result that I didn't need to use a cutting compound, I went straight to a good polish.

Haha John just as well I read that after claying.

My store annoyingly had no meguiars left so used t-cuts quick clay kit (clay, detail / lube spray and wax). Now I don't like t cut products and was really annoyed I had to use this However it was a good price and the clay bar and spray did a very good job at making the paint smooth again, was particularly good at removing tar and tree sap.

The 'clay wax' included was pretty much rubbish i came out the next morning and it had misted again and I had to run a cloth over it again. Will give it a good wax later.

Claying the car took a lot longer than I thought started at 1.30pm and finished at 5pm!

I'm glad you've had good results. It made a real difference to my paint and it felt and a lot better once a wax was applied.
