Head light buckets
I am getting close to start on the front fenders of a 1970 Targa. The lower dog legs have miner problems so thats no big deal but I will need to replace the head light buckets. Has anyone here been there? I see there are a couple of places they are available.
Are they just spot welded or brazed in. I have to get them striped in the next week of two and just looking to know what I am in for. Thanks Jessie

Hi Jesse,
Can you post a pic? How bad are they? I just did some rust repair with out repalcing the whole bucket. I am not sure if they are welded or barzed in place. |

They are rusted mostly at the outer ring where the sugar scoop mounts. A little at the bottom of the bucket someone covered with what looks like JB weld. They should be replaced as this car is 95% rust free and think it to be the only right thing to do.
Sorry no pictures. I will try to learn that trick after I get a camera.

They are just spot welded in.

Thanks: thats what I figured. I seen where the rear quarter panel meets the bottom of the window channel was brazed and thought it might be the same with the head light buckets.
