whale tale grill color

I'm repainting my whale tail from a 1988 non turbo. The color is grand prix white with the center grill area black. My question is about the black grill section. From the factory, is the black section suppose to be flat, satin gloss or what? Mine was a dealer installed option and it appears they painted it and didn't do a very good job.

Can someone post a fairly closeup picture of the top of the black section of the tail so I can see where the black borders are suppose to be.

Talk about over-engineering, this thing is bolted together with at least 50 different types of fasteners.

Thanks

An 88 would have had a black plastic grill. If it's painted that was done later. Many have used the Rustoleum 777 satin black rattle can to freshen up the black look on various parts.
