Hoping for some guidance...

I have started stripping the under coating in the wheel wells and interior.

How long can the metal be exposed without damage?

I have read here on PP that it starts to corrode immediately. I do not see any evidence of corrosion.

well the sooner the better you get a e-primer on the bare matel the better . you in most cases will not see much for some time . but never the less it starts to rust immediately .

Is there a time line for prime, base and clear?

what do you mean by time line ? you can let the e-primers sit once sprayed for years all you have to do is sand it and then spray more primer on top of it . for filler type primers you would want to give it a good sanding and then seal it for top coating or repriming . dut the same goes for the two types of primers after they sit for some time you always need to sand then before you spray any thing on them but they can sit for years as long is they don't get wet from things like rain . primers DO NOT hold out any water at all that is not what they are designed for .
most base colors you can spray and then let them sit also . but they do have a window before you can just spray clear on them with out having to sand them .
BASF states you only have 24 hours before you have to resand there base coats to apply clear . on of my businesses is airbrushing and i will blow that 24 hour window away on every job we take in . some big jobs take weeks to do and there is no way we could ever hold to the 24 hour window on them . we do not ever have any problems when we do clear things weeks after we will spray the base colors . but non the less you should always try to stick to the makers TDS on what you should do with there products .

This is confusing.

I have a car that has had parts of it primered many years ago. Perhaps I should take it down to the metal? I am sure that id was rained on at some point.

Also, I am going to strip the old undercoating off. I was going to repaint it with POR-15. Should I seal the POR-15 as well? If so, how should it be done?
