Recommend Speedglass helmet model.

All of my welding is with gasless MIG, maybe once a month, auto-related hobby type stuff, but I want a quality helmet.
I have a cheapie Hobart now, but want better.
I see that Speedglass pricing is from around $199 to $2,300 - yikes.
thanks
Bill K

(Merry Christmas to me )

my personal welding helmet was quight costly . i did how ever buy 8 helmets for the two shops (body shop and fab shop ) .
they are forney solar auto darkening helmets # 55698 at bridgeport tools and equipment . they were selling for some thing like 95 dollars each but because i bought so many i paid 78 each . the guys like them because there a thin helmet so they can get there heads up into wheel houses to weld and in between the rails of the chassis . i like them because the cost of the batterys for the auto darkening was killing me . no more batterys because of the solar power . for the price there not to bad . i was paying 500 dollars each for the lincoln helmets but after two got broken in one week no more of that .

I have a solar one, but you have to remember to 'charge' it up good before you use it. I store mine in a helmet bag so if you don't charge it under a powerful light or the sun for 45 minutes or so, you can get an unpleasant surprise.

the shop helmets sit out all the time so they are all ways set to be used .
my personal helmet is always in it's bag and that too has never had to be charged .
i took it out of the bag last night and put it right on my head and used it .
but maybe with some you have to charge some thing ?
