914 door skin question
Hello there,
Have a question about the door and trunk skins on a 914.Are they suppused to be bonded to the inner support structure(Ex:the I beam running horizontally in the door)Im pretty sure the skins arent supposed to free float,as the gaps im seeing between the skins and supports are variable. If they are attatched, would a structural adhesive work,or could I mig them together. you should use a two part door skin adhesive like SEM #39337 on the outter edge of the door were it folds over the frame .
on the impact beam and spots on the frame to the trunk skin you use a two part flexible urethane foam sem part number 39357 . DO NOT try to use just any foam for that because it will srink and leave warping /wrinkle marks on the top sides of the panels . you have to use the foam that is made for the beams to skins . |
