Glasurit 285 Primer Filler Pro - A single product entire car?

I am planning to paint my car with 22 Line. That's easy enough to figure out, but there are an absolutely bewildering array of "primer/filler/undercoats" available, and I like to keep things simple. Especially when it comes to ordering/stocking stuff. I don't do enough paintwork to build up an array of products.

Looking at the data sheet, it seems like the 285 Primer filler pro (white) can be used over metal,, galvanized metal, old finishes, over e-coated parts, etc.

TI - Glasurit Layout

Anyone used it? I'd really like to find a quality multipurpose product that I can use on metal, on ecoated new parts, and the original paint, and under my topcoat. Obviously it needs to be appropriate for use as a filler for block sanding.

This looks like it would be a candidate for such a product, depending on how you mix it and how you lay it on?

No....... when you say by me, do you mean, "near you"?

I am going to have to mail order my paint anyway so figure I can mail order this too. That is, if I can find a place to ship to me in Minnesota. I think Paul Francis Paints was a company recommended to me.

for a etching primer get chromated 283-160 . I tend to use a etch more the a epoxy .
another good option is the RM EP epoxy primer at a lower cost .

filler primer go with the 285-60 filler primer . the 285-60 can also be mixed as a sealer when it comes time to seal . so you can go wet on wet from sealer to top coat .

if you want 22 line and can't get it in your area call paul francis and co . in new haven ct.
203 468 8126 ask for George . only talk to him as others have call them and talked to people like the delivery drivers and they have told people they will not ship products . they will !

Thanks for the replies so far, still wondering about this product and hoping to find someone with some experience with it:

Freude am Experimentieren (E-Journal 1/2013) : BASF Coatings GmbH

The BASF propeganda says it can be applied direct to metal and has excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance (so could be used instead of a chromated primer). It can be mixed and sprayed to act as a filler, and can also be used as a wet on wet sealer the same as 285-60.

So, at least one less product to buy, and, much more important (to me), one less thing to figure out and get used to, and, less film buildup on the final project. I'd see an added benefit to being able to "blend" a spot repair easily because instead of an etch type primer AND a filler you could spray one product, sand it, and topcoat.

Final benefit is the fact that it is available in white, and I have a white car.

So has anyone actually used it?

Thanks!!

I was given a Gal to demo .
it was good not great (but good primer) .
I liked the 285-60 more as a primer and a sealer .
the 285-230 does have great film build and is a DTM primer were you do not need a E-primer under it but it is not a chromated primer so you will not get a etch out of it .
you can go right over a E coat primer for things like the under sides of hoods but not recommended for outer surfaces like top sides of hoods .

like all DTM primers it does and will stick to many types of metals but it's more of a production product for production shops more then for resto's .
