refinishing headlamp bowls?
I'm not sure this is the right sub-forum for this question, but it seems like the best one.
I have a headlamp bowl that has been damaged by what looks like water intrusion in the past, and the reflective finish is peeling off. What is the most effective way to refinish this? I'd rather do this than get a new headlamp if I can, as for the car in question they are relatively hard to find and expensive. The lens is removable, so access is not a problem.

My knowledge in this area is approaching zero. I was talking to a friend who runs a silver plating company and he told me he occasionally replates headlight bowls. Since I don't need this service I didn't ask any questions. Try contacting a silver plater in your area and I bet they can help you out.

@962porsche - thanks, I didn't know there was a finish specifically for that. I'll look for it.

There is a Pelican who posts in the classifieds - John Audette - he just does headlights - in case you wanted someone to do it for you
