Spray Paint removal?

I have an inlaw who's car was vandalized with some spray paint. Any suggestions for safe removal without damaging original paint?

Auto paint reducer will take it right off.

spray can spray paint has no hardener /catalyst in it so there are a number of solvents that will remove the spray paint and not damage the cars OE finish.

because of cost I would not go right for the automotive grade reducer .
I would 1st try good old paint thinner you can get a gal at your home store for 15 dollars .
is you need some thing a little more aggressive you could go with acetone .
once you remove the spray paint you will probably need to polish the areas that were sprayed and cleaned . the solvents will take some of the shin off the OE finish but it's nothing you have to worry about .
you should always do a little test area 1st to be sure the OE finish will not be damaged by any solvents you pick .
needless to say wear rubber gloves when working with any solvents .
you should also use cloth rags and not paper towels things like old tee shirt rags work good .

Thanks. I'll give the paint thinner a test on a small section first.
