Best way to cut out a piece of rusted windshield framing

Hi all,

The base of the windshield sheetmetal is rusted in the lower corners on my 83 SC. I have order replacement pieces from stoddard. What's the best way to cut out the bad sheetmetal? Also, does it rust in these areas due to a bad window seal or?

Thanks for your input

Yes it's due to the seal, use a cutting wheel and take your time. Trace new piece onto car check and recheck then cut out old piece.
