Porsche paint code # for T6B - silver metallic 4206. More details can be found on Charlie Whites excellent Porsche literature site at: http://members.aol.com/zenith356c/Porsche356Colors.html

Silver metallic in '62 was "6206". starting in '54, the first 2 digits of the code indicated the release year of the colors, as follows; 54xx, 56xx, 57xx, 60xx, 62xx, 64xx. the second 2 digits refer to the actual color; 06 denoted a silver in every sequence but the last - 6406 was Irish Green.

Yep, drauz is right. I looked at the catalogue and thought it was a 4 rather than scrolling down that little bit further. Dark grey would be slate grey, paint code 6201 - the same as my 62 cabriolet.

Yes it is. For 1960/61 (T5) the code would be 6001. And the red interior looks fantastic against slate grey. If you want more pics of this combination let me know.

Warren, those are beautiful examples (I even like the stained exhaust ports on your friend's C). Also, the dual Talbots on your Cab are neat. Enjoy the summertime!

Pmannn, another '62 color to consider (or confuse your decision-making)... 6207 (Heron Grey) a lighter shade of grey, non-metallic... although in '62 it was not matched to red interior (however it was in '60 - dontcha love consistency).

If you are trying to replicate the specific car's original specs, I'd consider getting a Cert of Authenticity from PCNA that is useful to confirm engine & tranny serial #s, int / ext color, fact. options & original dealer.

Btw, in some cases it is impossible to know the original carpet color unless a verified piece of that carpet remains installed on the car.
good luck!

My 1963 Cab is silberm 6206. (Metallic Silver) The paint shop could not find this color in 2007 when they tried to replicate it. In retrospect it might have been because nobody has the same size metallic flakes anymore. One of their sources did some research and allegedly found out that the old Metallic silver is the same as the newer Polar silver. A spray out pretty much confirmed this. Ironically, I bought a Crystal Silver Metallic Cayenne S and when you park it next to my 63 Cab, the color appears identical. Except for the metallic flake size, same color through the years, different names,
