Pre-A parts value?

What do you think a mostly-complete pair of Solex carbs and manifolds for Pre A might be worth? I'd love to provide more details, but that's the way the question was posed to me.

Thanks in advance...

John

John I had a set of these also I am now running Zenith as the Solex's as much as I love solex's are a pain in the bum to run as there is all these linkages and extra points of wear that do and can affect the performance of the car.. ( when worn badly ) so with that in mind I put a wanted add for some carbs a year or so ago and I had people coming back with $400 for a pair and then one was $600!!!!!

I ended up getting a pair in the UK where I live for £130 and they were fully rebuilt. ( $200 ) So as one lister who posted to me ... said don't you know these are Rare!! and there has been a huge explosion of used car parts for these cars in the US!!!! .

I said I have seen all this before, parts and cars that are advertised for WAY over the top money only draw in chancers to see if they can get enough money from a part to retire on...

I would say you best selling them in the US and I am sure you would ask up wards of $400 a pair but I think you are more likely to see for $200-300 and would help some one out with there resto..

Thanks for the reply. I was asking for a friend, who had them for sale. FYI, I think they went for something north of US$1300 on eBay. Huge explosion, indeed.

There is certainly a difference between asking price and selling price, but all it takes is one buyer, I guess. Ain't life grand?

Cheers!
