Questions about Knecht Air Filters

Hi everyone,

I now have a set of Solex carbs on my 912. I also have the Knecht wire mesh air filters.

Here are my questions:

Are these Knecht filters good enough?

Should I use some kind of oil to increase the filtering capabilities of the Knecht air filters? If so, what kind of oil?

I would like to get either a pair of the nylon socks or pre-filters, that VW sand draggers and dune buggies use, or a pair of the green foam pre-filters. Does anyone have any experience with those?

I had Webers with K & N filters before, and that's why I have all of these questions about the Knecht air filters.

Thank you!

EZMiles

As a friend says, "Knecht air filters keep the rocks out, that said they are period correct. ************* has KN replacements as does Pelican I would imagine, classicandspeedparts.com is a good place and mainelycustombydesign.com/ has the high end custom setups, they look really nice.
