On my 58 coupe there seems to be an extra wire attached to the coil?from all the schematics that i have seen, you basically have your primary ignition wire which lands on the right side of the coil. Then the output, would be the coil wire which of course goes to the middle of the distributor, then the other wire which goes to you condenser.
Mine is wired, with the ignition wire attached to the right side of the coil, that's correct. But then there's a jumper wire from the ignition wire straight to the condenser. Then of course, the coil wire that goes to the middle on the distributor. The wire that i question is there's a set of three wires that come in from the back of the motor, one of those wires is my temperature sensor, the second wire is my oil pressure sensor, now third wire the one in question lands on the left side of my ignition coil. Not unless that's my primary wire, but i still have an extra wire.Keep in mined that i haven't spent much time on circuit and followed everything out. Thanks,Art |
