Value of 61 356

All,

I have been quietly looking for a 356 which I can drive. I found a local 1961 356 with a 20 foot paint job, floor pans and longitudinal look good. Original engine has been replaced with a 912 engine in 2001. Transmission was repaired and works. All instruments work with the exception of the clock. Looks like a couple rust bubbles toward the bottom portion of the passenger door and the drivers door bottom portion doesn't meet the seam when closed. Original Becker radio and it works. Chrome hubcaps and bumpers are in working order as does the headlights and blinkers, etc. Body frame number is 116130 and Farbton inside door is 741. Owner is asking $29.5.

What does the estimed assembly think? Thanks in advance for expertise!

Depends, look to the 356 Registry or eBay for the feel of the market. I suspect the market is a little slow these days though. I imagine for anything in the decent to the good range would be starting at 20 to 25K, but it is a buyers market...isn't it? Then again I always have tried to steal them......
Happy hunting,
Chas.
