Hello, my first post
Hey all you bathtub lovers!
I am new to this forum, and decided to post here first, because my first vehicle was a 1962 rolling chassis (VW Typ 1) that I put a 356 motor in. I believe it was claimed by the seller ($250, parts in boxes) to be a 1500-S Roller Crank. I did not split the case, so I never saw the crank bearings to confirm. This was in the early 70's, so forgive me if I don't recall all the details. I do remember two big-ass downdraft two-bbl carburetors, which I rebuilt. Not exactly a Porsche, but after the transplant, it ran very well, thank you! Had lots of GO power. I also replaced every moving part and line in the brake system, so it also had decent stopping power. Anyway, it seems I am able to post, I hope to be doing lots of it! Introduction- I am a bit of a specialist in lighting improvement, high output bulbs and fancy headlights, with a serious aversion to melting plastic, overloading fuses or wires, and damaging any part of any vehicle. ESPECIALLY PORSCHES. I am here to learn, and help wherever I can. My first love, after the P-Powered bug, was a 1972 2002 BMW, owned and driven hard for 30 years before retiring it to the race track. Also owned a 1985 BMW K100 RS (two wheeler), and my DD is a 1986 BMW 535i. I'll be posting over on the BMW forum, as you might guess... ... but I will ALWAYS love the 356, folks. I guess I caught the bug, and don't know of a cure. Don't want one, either. If you have any lighting issues, maybe I can help. Ask away! And I am glad to be on board. |
Welcome.
Probably get more 356 stuff from teh Registry... but a few of us post here. |
