It is an early T-5 356B. Probably a '60 or '61.

I don't want to burst your bubble, but the starting bid is $6000, and it's a T6 B - not a 1957. I doubt that this car is worth the $6K from the pics, let alone the (probably) high reserve that the seller is asking...

I'd value this at $2K just from the pics (assuming no major, major rust). This is a big project...

Wayne, it is defintely not a T6 because it has a "round" hood, not a "square" one. She gave me the serial, which was 100442, but that's for a '57 Super Coupe. ???WTH??? It looks like a T5, a '60 or '61, and I don't think it's a Super, just a Normal. Less than $2k, I would say. PJV911, just go get one that's done. Don't waste your time with cars like this. The 356s that are financially better to do restoration work on are the Speedsters, D's, Roadsters and Cabs, and, of course, all the 4-cam Carreras. Do you really want a Normal T5 B Non-sunroof coupe? I would say probably the worst years of 356 production were '60 and '61.

this car is a T-5 and it could have a build date of 59 as they starterd production of these B cars in the fall of 59.

It is not a T-6 because the T-6 has a gas flap on the fender and the square hood.

I suppose the whole front clip could have been replaced but it is unlikely to because of the rear B type bumpers so the vin# given is most likely a mistake.

If you were to buy this car I would contact the owner and ask her to open the front hood and ansk her to look at the vin plate in the center in front of the gas tank and verify the numbers.

Either way it looks like a big project.

The woman wont show the car unless the auction is not succesful. She said that would be unfair to out of state bidders. So I guess next week it will be available for showing. I will feel her out on the phone first because 6k with reserve not meet is a little high but then she doesnt know what its worth so she is protecting her interests and is new to Ebay . She also sais 8 people have rights to see it before me.

Ha, this is funny and annoying at the same time. She is never going to sell this rust-bucket if she has that attitude. I hate people who are so uppity about selling their cars. "It's not fair, 7 other people called me first." This is America, and the person willing to step up to the plate with cash in hand first is the one that takes the cake.

How can that be 'unfair' to outside bidders? Isn't her goal to sell the car? Who cares about other people who won't bid on the car anyways?

I guess this woman really has no clue. That's good though, because eventually she'll get frustrated and sell you the car for $1000 when no one will put up with her 'games.'

*rant off*

Talking I have just picked my self up off the floor!

If she sells that car for 6K then I live in ice land and I have a lot of snow for sale!!!!!!!!!!!! she can come and sell it......

Shop around man. the car is a worth doing for the right money and that is NOT the right money $1500-$2500 it could be a nice car but you need to work hard. Look you live in the US I live in the UK I found a gem for $8k pic enclosed 28 years in a garage not used ( see my 356 got to get to Brighton for 2003 post ) and it was in the US I also found a 912 69 mint for $2000. this is the right time to shop around cars that have not sold this summer are up for offers try them. Don't be a hero with this car there are others for better money. Keep the faith and look about.

I would never pay 6k for it. I dont know much about 356`s but love the early 912`s. Before you guy`s gave your opinions I thought maybe it could have been something special like a 4 cammer . That would be a great barn for 6k ha. I will take a look when the auction is over. That is if she lets me. If its not rusted in the floors and rockers I would be willing to pay as much as $3000.00 . Keep in mind there are not many 356`s around Long Island with the salt water never more than 8 miles away ,and thats if your in the middle. Early 911`s are just as rare. Sometimes I wonder if my 69` is the only one left out here.

Hi you can still (ebay) flag up the item even if it has ended I did not know this till the other day .

Log in as you would do then look at the home page top links. One should have search hit that
then search for the item. If you have the item number then look at the links again and you will see search by number enter that and you are home and dry.

cool

we just bought a speedster this way as the cost was too much as a sale it ended we contacted them and got it a better price only problem is that it is in Scotland England and we are in Southampton England 9hrs away so we are off to get it.

Good luck
