Buzzetta Speedster--ever a classified ad for it?
I know it was just sold by that restoration firm in the SE,(anybody know for how much?) but I am more interested in what it sold for in the Fifties and Sixties when it was just a used Porsche race car (Buzzetta went on to own more fearsome racing only cars) May be somebody has an old Competition Press ad (predecessor to Autoweek)
Here's some description from the shop that just sold it recently: 1959 Porsche 356A Speedster GS/GT (Numbers Matching) SOLD April 5, 2014 Well-known & well-documented Second to last Plain bearing GT Speedster made in 1959 #84953 is one of the nineteen GS/GT Speedsters made in 1959 U. S. Army Serviceman Joe Buzzetta bought this competition Speedster from Glockler dealership in Frankfurt on July 7, 1959 while stationed nearby. He raced the car extensively in Europe, coming to the attention of Porsche Competition Director Huschke von Hanstein. Von Hanstein signed Joe to be a factory driver, initiating what would be an illustrious driving career for Joe that lasted through 1968. |

Just stumbled onto your thread. My dad owned the car in the early 70s. He sold it, I think, for circa $5k. It was disassembled at the time.
