Hitting the brakes kills the car
I have a '57 Speedster. So, when I hit the brakes the coil voltage goes from 6v to 0v and comes back when you let the pedal back up. I have been looking all over for a wiring diagram with no luck. My fuse cover does not have the paper fuse chart any more so, I don't know what is what. I wouldn't think the ignition is on the same circuit as the brake lights?
So, my questions are thus: -Where can I get a good wiring diagram -Where can I get a fuse diagram -Are the brake lights on the same circuit as the ignition? I have a Haynes like paper manual on the way from Amazon, but I don't know if it has the wiring diagram. Any help would be much appreciated. |

The Haynes manual has a wiring diagram. It sounds like you have a short in the brake light/turn signal system. It is shorting the entire system. This is serious.
