From 60+ years ago, how many are left?

look at My 356 Speedster, that will give you an idea. Looks like 1,234 Pre A speedsters were built.

Very cool website. I am really impressed with how many still live! With asking prices these days, too bad for all those guys that let one go. Don't ask how I know.

I'm one of those guys! Bought it for 65K in 2004, sold it for 85K in 2005 to Nicolas Cage.
Sold last year for 370K.

My poor old '58 original paint Meissen Blue Speedster is having to sit outside cuz I had no garage. I felt so sorry for it. So I sold it... $18,300.00
It still hurts.
Oh well!

Look like this car will be selling "without reserve" at Auctions America Fort Lauderdale Auction March 31-April 2. I am not sure it's the same one as I guess Cage has had a couple Speedsters.

From my understanding the pre-a cars (1954 model year) were serial numbers 80001 thru 80200, the a series took over at that point.

Either way I let 80074 and 80159 slip away in the early '90's. If I knew then what I know now ..... such is life

My 356 Speedster

1954 and 1955 are all pre A (bent windshield on coupe and cab). The A range started with model year 1956.
