Help with paint code

I’m a little perplexed by my paint tag. I wanted to get a new one from carbone but then realized my current one just doesn’t make sense to me. The car is lime green and the COA says lime green/N8 and upon doing research I see the paint code is 137. Please see the pic of mine and offer me your opinion.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1529450933.jpg

Help with paint code

I think someone forgot to stamp the 7 for 137. Order it with the correct code and never look back

I wouldn't remove the tag and see what the paint looks like under it. From the looks of the tag it has had a repaint.

Yeah I was thinking that could be the case. Maybe this tag is a repop already and they got it wrong.

I’m assuming you meant you would remove the tag and see what’s underneath. Yeah for sure I’m going to remove it to replace. We shall see

tag

I would not remove the tag to see what is under it,
its very hard to replace it with original rivits, and there is
[plenty of other places to see under on the car,tag looks original to me.

It looks like **** as you can see. They sell new tags and rivets that look identical. I am replacing it as it’s the worst looking spot on the car lol

Have a look in the frunk as there is usually a light dusting of the body color in there. Likewise in the engine bay. I like the kermit color, like you say to the barman "Same again please."

Stupid auto correct!

Yes, remove the tag is what I meant

The Coa says lime green/N8 so the only real confusion is the tag saying “13” . 13 isn’t a proper code for another color in 74 so I think it was just an error when they made the tag

^^ No 13 paint code. Three with 13#. 131 Light Ivory, 132 Ivory and 137 Lime Green.
I'm sticking with the 7 got missed.

All for 1974? I thought I just looked carefully in Snodgrass’ book at the ‘74 colors last night. Yeah agree with 7 getting skipped

I looked at the DuPont paint codes for 74. Maybe DuPont is wrong or maybe the book is wrong???

Sure either way irrelevant as I think you guys convinced me the tag is just a misprint so mystery solved. I ordered new corrected tag today

I have a tag with a similar error on a guards red/G8 car the tag is stamped 002 should be 027. The Build date is 04/74. maybe the paint plate stamper had a drinking problem that year.

^^^ Haha. That's got to be it. I wonder how many 74 tags are messed up.

A lotta dope was smoked back in '74.
