restoring H4 headlights and have a question
 

Hello all, I'm in the process of restoring a set of original Bosch H4 headlights for my 78 and the housing finish had pitting. I used some steel wool to clean and what looks like pain came all off. now left with the raw metal.

What paint if any were on original Bosch H4 inner housing? please see pic.
What do most use to restore them?

I would just use some rattle can silver

maybe clear coat it with clear lacquer if you like it in that shade.

On another front I would put in H4 LED bulbs.

Krylon dull aluminum looks good.
