What’s the deal with Bosch fanfare horns?

I haven't seen any. My car came with a set and I'm just wondering what the deal with them was, why the commanded so much $, how rare they were, etc...

I have read they were only used on 72 & 73 911s. Others say 70 to 73. That is not a lot horns to start with. Add 45+ years of corrosion with no new replacements equal, shortage

Last year at Hershey, a man from Arizona was selling restored early Bosch horns. I suspect their is a good market for his work. Rob
