AZ Alternator Rebuild Shop Needed Phoenix
Hi Guys,
Weather is finally getting perfect and my SC Battery and OXS light came on a couple of days ago. I checked the battery which is fine. Then I checked the alternator output at 1,500 and 2,000 rpms and I never got anything over 12.5 So, it looks like the alternator is bad. I owned this SC 18 years ago, and I believe back in 2002 or so I removed the alternator for rebuild when I was living in Tucson. I remember it was frustrating because the shop I took it to did not test it before they gave it back to me and I had to take it out again and bring it back. I'm really fuzzy on what happened, but I feel like there is something a special about our alternators? That rebuild guys can miss? I remember installing it and the Battery and OXS lights were still on. The second time was a charm. Anyway, the question here is where can I take it to in Phoenix to get rebuilt? The last rebuild was good for 20 years, so when done right they seem to work. I rather just take it right to the guys doing the rebuild versus giving it to my shop to handle. Obligatory pics attached, Porsche Cars and Coffee at 4 till 4 in Old Town Scottsdale last weekend. Thanks, Rodney ![]() ![]() ![]()

I’ve had good luck with Genco Auto Electric in Mesa.
