I have used this - it's the harness mounting kit from Brey Krause that also functions as a mount for the seat belt receptacle. Worked well in my '89

Bumping an old thread as I am in the same bind..

Putting Recaro Speeds into my 86. Planted seat brackets. The belt receptacle mounting point hits the seat. Curious is anyone has found a solution for this.

Going through this as well currently, putting Recaro LX's in an '85. Tried the BK mounts, didn't clear. Having a shop fab up something custom to make it work.

The 964/993RS models used this receptical braacket

and some 3mm thick washers to keep things level at the other corners

a GT3 bar has the same 3mm thickness at the ends if you want to use subs

Thanks Bill. Unfortunately Those brackets aren't really applicable to a Recaro Speed (not side mounted) and the RS bracket won't clear the side of the seat

That might just work if I get the passenger side unit and flip it to face away from the seat back.

Thanks!

I have used the "Planted" bracket twice with fantastic results. The identical Recaro's in my sister's 88 Targa and my current 72 build with Lemans style Classic Touring Seats. I stumbled on these brackets a while back and i'll never go back to fussing with other brackets and trying to adapt them to the mounting points in any 88 or older 911.

Why not give the bracket a slight bend?

I have the planted brackets and they do not clear Recaro Speeds
