Ignition wire - Clewett Help

Gents,

I ordered a new set of ignition wires for my 80 911sc. The issue is that they appear to be too long. The box says that this deign fits 1965-1983 911 series...

Did I order the wrong thing?
Is this normal? Should I try to turn the engine?

Garage
They will work just fine. I love mine as they make a distinct click when in place insuring proper seating.
Rubber collar slides in tight.
Obviously, do check correct lengths.
Cheers,
Johan

Update.

The rubber cap that is meant to cover the holes is adjustable. All you have to do is adjust them forward and the cap will cover the holes where the spark plugs go.

I’m relieved I didn’t buy the wrong part!
