How to ship engine case

How are you guys shipping an engine case
No head studs in it.
Having hard time finding a box to fit it

UHaul has boxes. They will fit.

I usually make a classic crate.

I've used lots of extra cardboard to build a box inside a box as well as surrounding the case with cut-to-fit blueboard rigid insulation for extra padding. Pack it once, pack it well!

An engine case is a pretty irregular shape. You can use some expanding foam in a garbage bag inside a box and put the case in on top before it sets to make custom shaped padding. This is good because it'll support all the little hollows and whatnot. I'd pad that further with some styrofoam insulation and then double box that box in another with some additional shock absorbing material.

I think a key is to have the case fully supported with no space for it to move around at all.

I borrowed a guys custom made wooden case, was very simple but effective. if i can find a photo i will post.
he used thin sheeting and some 1 x3" and used bolts at the transmission and fan side supports to hold it.
